The League City Blue Santa Program is gearing up for the holidays. The program gives toys and bikes to children in the community that may not otherwise receive anything for Christmas. The Blue Santa Program is coordinated by the Community Services Officer of the League City Police Department. They are assisted by volunteers from the Vehicle Maintenance Department, Police Department, E.M.S., Fire Department and the community. The program also provides gift certificates to families so they may buy food from a local grocery store.
In 2006, we provided gifts to over 155 families and over 460 children. We currently provide toys for children from infant to 14 years of age.
You may register at the League City Police Department, starting November 1st until December 7th. The program is currently in need of gifts for children ages 0 to 2, 10 to 14, and cash donations. If you have any questions please contact Ofc. Christy Galyean at 281-338-8201.
