24th Annual National Night Out - August 7th
League City to Join Cities Nationwide
“America’s Night Out Against Crime”

On Tuesday, August 7th, neighborhoods throughout League City are being invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the “24th Annual National Night Out” (NNO) crime and drug prevention event.  National Night Out, which is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) and co-sponsored locally by the League City Police Department, will involve over 9,500 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases around the world.  In all, over 32 million people are expected to participate in ‘America’s Night Out Against Crime’ on August 6th. National Night Out 2002 is supported in part by the U.S. Department of Justice, and the Bureau of Justice Assistance.

From 6pm to 9pm on August 7th, residents in neighborhoods throughout League City and across the nation are asked to lock their doors, turn on outside lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors and police.  Many neighborhoods throughout League City will be hosting a variety of special events such as block parties, cookouts, parades, visits from police, flashlight walks, contests, youth activities and anticrime and drug rallies.

If you would like to host an event, please contact Ofc. Christy Galyean at 281-338-8201. We will need the name of the subdivision, exact location of the event and scheduled time.
